Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had received information according to which China provides weapons to Russia, including barrel powder and artillery.
“We have received information according to which China provides weapons to the Russian Federation. And we are ready to talk about it in detail. Today, we have information from the security, intelligence, cannon powder, artillery.”
The Ukrainian leader has not developed in detail on the extent of Chinese support or the type of weapons provided, but says that kyiv will reveal his results exhaustively next week.
“I think we will be able to talk about it in detail next week, especially about the data we think that Chinese representatives are engaged in the production of certain weapons in the territory of Russia,” he said.
Zelenskyy also noted that Kyiv was blinded by revelation.
“It is not that we are surprised, but we really did not want to see the facts we witnessed and that I witnessed.”
The Ukrainian President said that he had spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the war against his country and directly interviewed China to Kremlin.
Zelenskyy says he was reassured at the time that Beijing had no involvement, and he does not intend to sell or provide Moscow weapons.
“I had a conversation with the Chinese chief during this war. And I asked him a direct question about arms, and he gave me his word that he would not sell weapons and send them to Russia,” he noted.
“But, unfortunately, we see different information now. In any case, we already have facts on this work of China and Russia to strengthen their defense capacities. And these are bad.”
China has always maintained its neutrality in the Ukrainian conflict, but Beijing has provided diplomatic support and economic support to Russia since the large -scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022.
