Washington state senator Bill Ramos suddenly died on Saturday evening, his wife, the member of the King County Council Sarah Perry, announced on Facebook.
“It is with the deepest sorrow that I share the news that the love of my life, Bill Ramos, died while he was on a path tonight,” said Perry.
Tributes flocked colleagues and friends of the senator who represented the 5th legislative district of Washington in Issaquah.
“I was deeply saddened to learn the adoption of Senator Bill Ramos. The shocking death of Bill is difficult to treat. His wife Sarah, who shares Bill's commitment to the public service and serves as a member of the King County Council, is in our thoughts and our prayers.
“I'm just a broken heart. Bill Ramos was a dear friend, an incredible leader and a precious partner to serve our communities. We have lost a real champion in the state of Washington. My heart is with Member of the Council Sarah PerryAnd all those who loved it. We will miss it deeply, ”posted Kim Schrier.
