The submarine, which is part of the Pacific fleet, secretly moved to an area designated before shooting a Kalibr cruise missile on a coastal target at more than 1,100 km on the Kura training ground on the Kamchatka peninsula.
In a second phase, Krasnoyarsk has located and attacked a simulated enemy submarine using anti-sub-marine missiles, reaching the simulated underwater target, according to Russian officials.
The Krasnoyarsk, a YenS-M class submarine, came into service in December 2023 and is now based in Kamchatka, according to the ministry’s press release.
