The inhabitants of Prague commeted the day's day on Thursday with a large -scale reconstruction of the 1945 Prague uprising against the Nazis.
About 400 people, dressed in period uniforms and armed with authentic weapons, have recreated the scenes of the urban war which marked the liberation of the city.
The original military vehicles of the Second World War were included.
The event took place in the Nusle district, where some of the bloodiest clashes between the fighters of the Prague resistance and the occupying Nazi forces took place in the last days of the Second World War.
