Indian officials said the strikes were targeting infrastructure linked to militant groups that were responsible for the deadly attack last month against the cashmere tourists administered by the Indians.
Precision weapons have been used to hit sites near Bahawalpur, Muridke and Kotli, including the suspect seat of Jaish-E-Mohammed and Lashkar-E-Taiba.
Pakistan reported civilian victims and said it had shot down several Indian jets in retaliation.
At least seven civilians were also killed in cashmere under Indian control by Pakistani bombings, the Indian army said in a statement.
