Chicago (AP) – The six NBA championship banners of the Chicago Bulls were removed from the chevrons of the United Center after being damaged during a concert.
According to a press release from the United Center, the banners underwent “minor damage” during a representation of the disturbed rock group on Saturday evening.
“United Center is currently working with the Bulls to explore options to repair these banners,” an Arena spokesperson said on the installation press release on Friday. “Although the banners are not in place for the rest of this season, we plan that they are back in place next season.”
The Bulls beat the Brooklyn Nets 116-110 at home Thursday evening. Their next home game will take place on March 27 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Led by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, the Bulls won three consecutive titles from 1991 to 1993. They completed three other peats with three consecutive championships from 1996 to 1998.
