Lerone Murphy's progressive rise in the featherweight ranking continued on Saturday when the English competitor passed Josh Emmett to win a unanimous decision somewhat without incident in the main UFC 105 event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. With his eighth consecutive victory, Murphy de Manchester enters a draw with Movsar Evloev for the longest sequence of UFC victories active in the featherweight division.
Subsequently, Murphy recognized the lukewarm nature of its performance and then called for a chance to fight one of the best classified featherweights in the UFC and finally obtained its title diploma after a six -year promotional race.

“It was going. I had to fight a certain fight. Hey, 16-0, 16-0! What? What? Easy work, easy work!” Cried Murphy after the fight at a holly crowd. “Listen, I just had to fight my game. He is a dangerous fighter, everyone knows that he has a Knockout power. You have to fight a certain fight, as simple as that, (against that) the highest level, I could not make mistakes. …
“Obviously, I want a title, but give me anyone in this top five (next), the first three even. Give me one of them, I'm going to fight again in July. Come on, guy. I just want to continue this train. I want to arrive in the championship, I want to stay active, two other fights this year.”
Murphy (16-0-1) presented a patient and disciplined match plan against his hard enemy, using a leg play and a stellar speed in a volume match against power. Murphy opened a break on the early Emmett front with a standing elbow and dotted the 40-year-old competitor with a varied strike attack, double Emmett in total strikes (117-44) while keeping Emmett to guess if Murphy was going to target the head (44%), the body (20%) or the legs (35%) of the Alpha Veteran team.

Emmett (19-5) obtained withdrawals in each of the first three laps, but failed to keep Murphy controlled for any significant time stretch or to set up a striking offense on the ground. The majority of Emmett's time has otherwise spent without success the loading with big punches that did not find a house on the 33 -year -old Englishman.
With the defeat on Saturday, Emmett has now dropped three of its last four UFC fights.
In the Co-Princhipal of the Night event, Pat Sabatini (20-5) dominated Joanderson Brito (17-5-1)-including a pair of 10-8 dashboards for his work in the second and third rounds-to win a unilateral unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27). Sabatini has now won seven of his nine UFC appearances, while Brito loses his second consecutive fight after hitting a sequence of five -fighting octagon victories.
