The streets of New York were filled with clear blue shirts and a lot of heart during the weekend while hundreds of runners and walkers gathered for the racing / step of the September 11 museum.
The event fell on Sunday and the goal is to collect about $ 600,000 to help keep the museum for the public. Social media and fitness stars Ally Love was on site to help launch the event.
NYPD officers closed the streets of Lower Manhattan and set up barricades throughout the region to keep the course clear and participants in safety.
The race traces the routes that many first speakers borrowed on September 11, 2001, which makes the event deeply symbolic for many people involved.
Among the crowd, there were runners from all over the world – all united under the gray and slightly foggy sky. While the participants crossed the finish line in front of the September 11 museum, they met a powerful view … A line of FDNY firefighters in red shirts, applauding, waving and shouting words of encouragement.
