The finalists of the 45th Los Angeles Times Book price were announced on Wednesday morning, recognizing a group of famous writers. Actor Andrew Garfieldnovelist Percival Everett and author, screenwriter and television producer Attic Locke are among the 61 nominated in more than a dozen categories honoring literary success.
Garfield is one of the finalists, alongside actor Matt Bomer, in the audio production category, which is given in collaboration with performance, performance, production and innovation of narration. The category was introduced for the first time last year. PicoThe famous author of “The Art of Someness”, will receive the Robert Kirsch Award for Lifetime Achievement, who celebrates a writer with a substantial link with the American West. Iyer's latest work, “Aflame: Learning from silence”, is a reflection on the power of meditation, even thanks to stressful life events, including his California house that burns decades.

The Christopher Isherwood Prize for Autobiographical Prose will go to Emily Witt for “Health and Safety: A Breakdown”, a successful memory on Witt's exploration with psychedelic substances and the scene of the New York dance club. It offers a lively and opportune life examination in America during the first presidential term of Donald Trump. Witt is also a investigative journalist and has already written “Future sex” “ A deep dive in modern encounters and sexuality.
“Emily Witt exhibits a country plagued by continuous trauma in an adulthood – strongly observed, shamelessly, shamelessly, which feels scary of our life and of our time,” said the judges of the Isherwood price in a press release.
