The Arctic is at the forefront of the climate crisis, the Central Watering of the Arctic Ocean Heating three times faster than the world average. However, its hostile and difficult environment, especially during the polar winter, means that a large part of this region is not studied for almost half of the year. Now, the construction of the Polar de Tara station, a new long -term observatory and laboratory, designed to study the central Arctic Ocean, pushes the limits of research in the region. This ship, specially adapted to difficult polar conditions, will house scientists while they are embarking on a transpolary drift, monitoring sea ice all year round. The expedition will be crucial to better understand the impact of climate change on the Arctic ecosystem and the change it would have on the rest of the planet.
