Nigel Farage, the leader of the British far-right party who was one of the greatest supporters of Brexit and the departure of the United Kingdom of the European Union, will be put to the test in the local elections of the country on Wednesday.
The reform party currently holds four of the 650 seats in the House of Commons and obtained 14% of the votes in the national elections of last year.
However, according to certain polls, its support is now equivalent or exceeds that of the work governing and the conservatives of the opposition.
“We intend to completely change British history and win it,” said Farage, highlighting its objective of becoming a winner in the next national elections of the United Kingdom, which would be held in August 2029.
Farage policies are concerned
Farage presented itself eight times in the elections in the House of Commons, losing each attempt until it was elected deputy of the Clacton district in 2024.
The policies of the reform party mix long -standing political positions – strong borders, slowing down immigration – with those who recall the administration of US President Donald Trump.
Inspired by the Government Department of Effectiveness (DOGE) led by Elon Musk, Farage said that he would like to implement “a DOGE for each county” in the United Kingdom.
“Bring the listeners to you, find out why all this money is spent for agency consultants and workers, finishing home work – boom, disappeared, finished,” said Farage.
The Reform Party calls on many working class voters who have once supported work, but also the social conservatives who have long been attracted to the conservatives.
While some conservatives already suggest an electoral pact between the two parties on the right for the next national elections, Farage has laughed at the idea, declaring that the Conservative Party “will be so small by then, that will not be important.”
But the rise of the reform is concerned with both work and conservatives.
Tim Bale, professor of politics at Queen Mary University of London, said that a solid result for the frageless party could frighten work and conservatives to harden their position on immigration and other questions to try to “become the light of the reform”.
He said it would be a mistake.
“If we look at all of Europe, the idea that you are better discussed these radical insurrections in copying some of their policies and that part of their rhetoric is not confirmed by reality,” said Bale. “If you present people with a copy, they tend to prefer the original.”
A division politician
Some may consider Farage as the greatest asset of the reform, but it has also triggered controversy with its positions.

False claims that the striker was an asylum seeker triggered riot days across England.
He also married strong anti-immigration positions, declaring that many migrants come to the United Kingdom “Alien to ours”.
In addition, the reform was delighted by some of the intestine struggles associated with the previous parts led by Farage, UKIP and the Brexit Party. However, he has since sought to become a smoother and more professional organization.

As such, Farage has sought to be distant from some of Trump's policies, including commercial prices and discussions on the United States making Canada its 51st state.
