Tiger wood is not in the field this week at the MastersBut he certainly makes his presence feel in Augusta.
Woods and Masters announced on Monday that Woods and its TGR design company are working to design a new golf course from nine holes to patch – which is the old site of the municipal golf course of Augusta in Georgia. The Woods Foundation will also open a new TGR learning laboratory in Augusta, which will help provide education and more for county students. Construction and operations will be funded by Augusta National.
“The partnership with Augusta National Golf Club to serve its surrounding community is really special,” Woods said in a statement. “My passion for education and golf goes back for a long time, as is my relationship with Augusta National and the city of Augusta. It is a transformational opportunity to empower the next generation and offer significant educational programming and access to fun and affordable golf.
“I am delighted to work alongside Augusta National and to see the two projects become a reality.”

The TGR Learning Lab should open its doors in 2028, while the patch hopes to open around the Masters next April. The construction of the patch has already started, and it will include a new prament, a short game installation, a clubhouse and more.
The municipal golf course of Augusta opened in 1928, and it was located about five kilometers south of Augusta National on the new renown Jim Dent Way to honor the old PGA Tour Pro and the 12 times winner of the PGA Tour Champions. Dent's son Jim Dent Jr. had been the professional chief in the patch.
Fred Ridley, president of the National Golf Club of Augusta, said on Monday that he had told Woods plans to renovate the course when the two played together before the 2024 masters.
“It was clear when I shared the concept that he sort of stung his interest, and it was in a way the beginning of a conversation, a dialogue that took place between our organizations, and after that, some meetings took place, and the idea just grew up from what we were doing in the way Tiger and TGR could be involved,” said Ridley. “He then sort of evolved to discuss the great idea of the TGR learning laboratory, which is simply very exciting.”
Woods is indefinitely broke his left Achilles during training Earlier this year. It would have been the 27th start to The Masters for Woods, which won the event in 2019 for the last time. He shouldn't go back to the PGA Tour Or compete again in a major this year.
