Tyron Smith, the longtime offensive tackle of Dallas Cowboys, withdraws from football, NFL network reports.
Smith will sign a one-day contract to retire as a cowboy after playing a single season with the New York Jets in 2024, according to the report.

Smith played 14 seasons in the NFL, including 13 with the cowboys. He did eight pro-bols and was appointed All-Pro five times. He will retire in the same off-season as the other cowboys Great Zack Martin, who played 11 seasons as a goalkeeper with Dallas while doing nine pro teams and nine All-Pro teams.

Smith joined the Cowboys as a choice n ° 9 of the 2011 NFL draft of the USC. He went from the right tackle to the left tackle after his recruit season and anchored an offensive line of cowboys which was often one of the best in football for the following 12 seasons. Smith provided blind protection to Tony Romo and Dak Prescott during his mandate.
Smith made the first of his eight pro Bowls in 2013, a race that included seven matches in a row. He was appointed first All-Pro team twice and the second All-Pro team three times, as recently as 2023.

Smith signed with the last off -season jets to play in the left tackle and protect the blind from Aaron Rodgers. A neck injury limited Smith to 10 games in 2024. He injured his neck for week 10 against the Arizona cardinals, who turned out to be his last match in the NFL. He finished the season on the injured reserve.
Now he returns for an honorary contract with the cowboys before officially calling him a career.
