Olympic triathlon The Hayden Wilde silver medalist recovers in hospital in Japan after a horror bike accident in Tokyo.
Wilde, refused gold to Paris 2024 by Great Britain Alex Yee in a brilliant finishrevealed significant injuries in a post on Instagram on Sunday.

The incident came only one day after the 27-year-old ran a flamboyant 10k, threatening the national record in New Zealand before not failing at only 11 seconds when he finished seventh in the Asics Tokyo Speed race in 27:39.
“I was in a bicycle accident,” said Wilde on social networks, before detailing her injuries. “4 rib broké. Broken scapular. Injured lungs.
“(I am) surrounded by the best help. Keep up to date. Quite emptied after such a beautiful day yesterday. I will be in Japan for a few weeks on the walk due to the lungs, it is not possible to travel. ”
Wilde won the victory during the opening event of the T100 Triathlon World Tour in Singapore last month.

He went up to the Ironman 70.3 distance to participate in the world championship at home in Tapo, New Zealand, at the end of 2024, but fell just short because he was again caught by Jelle Geens in Belgium.
The New Zealander said that he would run less Olympic triathlons at a distance over the next two years to cool off before the Los Angeles 2028 games. Wilde has a bronze and a money from his first two Olympic games and hopes to finish all the medals in California.
