A Wisconsin county judge was arrested and accused of hampering an immigration arrest operation last week, FBI director Kash Patel said on Friday.
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan appeared on Friday morning before the Federal Court and has since been released, the Associated Press reported.
Patel said that, in a position which was abolished on X, that Dugan was arrested for “intentionally poorly oriented” federal agents who came to his courthouse to hold an immigrant who was to appear before her in an unrelated legal case. It is not immediately known why Patel deleted his post.
“We think that judge Dugan Dugan intentionally oriented the federal agents far from the subject to be arrested in his courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject – an illegal extraterrestrial – to escape arrest,” said Patel.
Earlier this week, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported That the FBI was investigating Dugan for trying to “help an undocumented immigrant to avoid arrest”.
The publication indicated that the judge of the County Count of Milwaukee County, Carl Ashley, had sent an e-mail to the judges alerting them that the agents with American immigration and the application of customs had come to the Milwaukee County justice palace on April 18 with an arrest warrant, but his email was not called Dugan specifically.
The media confirmed This Dugan was arrested on Friday morning, noting that Ashley had confirmed the arrest of Dugan in an email to the leaders of the courthouse.
Officials have not officially confirmed that Flores-Ruiz is the Dugan defendant is accused of helping, as said in his deleted position. Flores-Ruiz, 30, is a Mexican immigrant who faced three charges of battery of crimes. He was in Dugan's courtroom for a conference prior to trial on April 18, the Sentinel newspaper reported.
