A fan of PNC Park fell on the outside wall and on the track Wednesday during the Pittsburgh Pirates match with the Chicago Cubs.

During the seventh round of the competition, a man from the stands of the right field fell head on the outside wall. The person seemed to jump before turning several times forward until the warning track. In total, the fall was about 21 feet.

The fan remained motionless for several minutes while the players and the officials started to achieve what had happened. The incident came just after Andw McCutchen struck a double of two points, which put the 4-3 pirates at the time.

After being treated for about five minutes, the fan was loaded on a stretcher and removed the land and in a local hospital. He was seen with blood on his face, and the first speakers continued to treat him while they were leaving.

In a follow -up Thursday morning, the Pittsburgh Ministry of Public Security announcement that the fan “remains in critical condition in the hospital” and that the incident has been nicknamed “of an accidental nature”.

The match finally resumed after about 10 minutes late. The players of the two teams were visibly shaken by the incident. A second person jumped on the ground in what seemed to be an effort to help the fan who also fell.

“Tonight, during the seventh round of the match at PNC Park, an adult man fell from right -wing stands on the playground”, the pirates said in a press release. “Pittsburgh EMS, as well as the sports training teams for pirates and cubs and other members of PNC Park staff reacted and responded immediately and administered care.

“He was transported to the General Hospital of Allegheny. No other information is available at the moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”

McCutchen spoke of the incident on social networks after the match.
