The owners of San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant, a most profitable restaurant that once spread over a wooden pier in the port of Los Angeles, signed a 49 -year -old lease to rebuild in their historic house by the water.

San Pedro Fish Market is currently working with mobile kitchens in temporary outdoor quarters in the parking lot next to his former site, where he served 450,000 guests and reported $ 16 million last year, Director General Mike Ungaro said.
Before moving to its new excavations, the restaurant will move to another temporary space on part of the West Harbor site which is intended to hold a hotel. He will operate there for about three years, serving up to 1,600 people at a time, while the permanent house on the market is built.
Finally, it will be one of the largest restaurants in the United States, said Ungaro, covering 55,000 square feet capable of serving 3,000 guests at a time – about the same capacity as its original location. Almost 90% of the dining room will be on an outdoor patio overlooking the seafront.
The features planned include event spaces, private catering options and areas for podcasters and other content creators to carry out live emissions, said Ungaro. “They are an institution in San Pedro,” said Eric Johnson, senior project director for West Harbor Development. “It is really important that we were able to provide them with a long -term house.”

The first $ 155 million phase of West Harbor, which will include restaurants, bars and shops, is expected to open its doors at the end of next year.
