The detection of rare brain diseases is a reminder of the importance of research funding

To the editor: The fact that two individuals died and another person has symptoms of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (“Oregon health officials investigate rare brain diseases blamed for two deathsOn April 16) is indeed intimidating given its fatal symptoms. Creutzfeldt-Jakob and chronic waste of waste is a reminder of the significant need to remain vigilant on this front.
