A date of play between the highest and the smallest living dogs in the world followed the path of most park meetings for dogs despite the difference in height of 3 feet (0.91 meters) – a lot of recovery of the tail, sniffing and crisscrossing.
REGINALD, a large 7 year old dune from Idaho, and Pearl, a Florida chihuahua, are both certified winners in their respective height titles by Guinness World Records. The fact that Reginald is the size of a small horse and the pearl is as small as an apple did not prevent them from getting along.
Pearl, a 4 -year -old child who rises to 3.59 inches (9.14 centimeters), comes from a long line of short dogs. His aunt Millie, a previous record holder in the same category, until her death in 2020, was also less than 4 inches (10.16 centimeters) in height.
Millie and Pearl weighed 1 ounce (28.35 grams) at birth.
“I did not expect to have the file again,” said Vanesa Semler d'Orlando, Florida, owner of Tiny Dogs. “It would be incredible.”
Guinness organized the two -day meeting between Pearl and Reginald – which also goes through Reggie and measures a huge 3 feet 3 inches (1 meter) – Last month at his home in Idaho Falls.
Even if Pearl loves dogs, even large dogs, Semler said she was anxious because of Reginald's size.
“For me, (it was) a huge and pleasant surprise from the first day because Reggie is like Pearl, of larger size,” she said. “He's so sweet, so friendly.”
Reggie, for his part, could have been more interested in the Guinness shooting team who accompanied the pearls than the little dog herself.
“I would say he loves people a little more than he likes other dogs,” said Sam Johnson Reiss, his owner.
Pearl's little size was also strange for the big boy.
“He was very careful, as a little anxious,” said Reiss. “He was very careful, as if he did not do it on her or anything or anything crazy. It was simply aware that she was there. ”
The super size of Reggie was obvious at the beginning, especially during a visit to the dog park when he made on other Danes great despite only 9 months.
“They would be shorter than him, and they were like adults,” said Reiss.
There was perhaps a little jealousy shown on toys and beds, but Reggie and Pearl found common ground during their two days to travel the Idaho together.
“I think she found a good friend,” said Semler.
Semler said that Pearl is her prima Donna, with the chihuahua choosing the clothes she wants to wear every day by placing her paw on the outfits placed in front of her. This is useful when the news teams queue for interviews.
“For us, she has always been our diva,” said Semler. “Now she's a diva for everyone.”
Pearl does not yet have the title of Diva, with Reiss saying that Reggie – which has a new Instagram account – at his own moments of Diva.
“It is a fairly high interview,” said Reiss. “Reggie is just cheeky, as if he were a little mischievous and silly and certainly tells you when he wants something.”
