Madison, Wisconsin (AP) – The American army suspended the first commanding woman of a Wisconsin training base after discovering portraits of President Donald Trump and the defense secretary Pete Hegseth had been returned to cope with a wall.
The army has published an undated declaration on the Fort McCoy website, saying that Colonel Sheyla Baez Ramirez was suspended as a garrison commander of the base. The press release indicates that the suspension is not linked to a fault but provided no other details, saying that the case was being examined.
The Ministry of Defense, April 14, published photos on X showing portraits of Trump and Hegseth on the chain of command of the base chain had been turned to the wall, as well as photos showing that they had been returned to the corridor.
“Regarding the controversy of the Ft. McCoy command wall chain … We corrected it!” The message read. “In addition, an investigation began to understand exactly what happened.”
Wednesday morning, no one returned an email and the vocal messaging that the Associated Press left to the officials of the public affairs of Fort McCoy.
Baez Ramirez assumed the role of the garrison commander in Fort McCoy in July 2024 after being head of the reserve program, command of the American army information and security in very Belvoir, Virginia. She was commissioned as a military intelligence officer through the training body for reserve officers in 1999 and holds a baccalaureate in mental psychology / health of the University of Puerto Rico and a master's degree in strategic studies of Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
It has many quotes and decorations, including the Meritrique Defense Service Medal, the National Defense Service medal and the Korean defense medal.
She was head of operations of the Command of the American army reserve in Fort Bragg in North Carolina, deputy commander of the 501st military intelligence brigade and deputy chief of the special American liaison councilor in Korea at the Humphreys camp in the Republic of Korea.
Fort McCoy is a 93 -mile training base in the Wisconsin countryside in the West. It has been active since 1909.
