THE Times Books Festival is back and he celebrates his 30th anniversary.
The weekend will present readings, signatures, projections and panels with authors and speakers from all horizons. This year's programming includes the director “bad” Jon M. Chu, the actor Chelsea, the exemption Amanda Knox, the novelist winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Viet Thanh Nguyen, the politician Stacey Abrams and the poet Amanda Gorman.
Scheduled for April 26 and 27, the annual literary festival brings more than 550 storytellers to the USC campus on seven outdoor stages and 15 interior sites.
Other notable personalities include Big Sean, Joanna “Jojo” LevesqueBlippi, Marcia Clark, Griffin DunneJosh Gad, Percival EverettIbram X. Schnid, Ve Schnab, Harry Shum Sumter, Honsks and Mamrie Hart.
As part of the series of speakers of exchange of ideas, Gorman will discuss his book of images “Girls on the Rise”. The poet and activist, who acquired national renown in 2021 after having recited her poem “The Hill that we climb” during the inauguration of former Biden president, wrote several children's books. The successful romant author Rebecca Yarros will discuss the last episode of his Empyrean series, “Onyx Storm”. Giggly Squad Podcast Hosts Hannah Berner And Paige Desorbo is ready to bring comic relief on the main scene and to discuss their book “How to Giggle: A Guide to Getting Life less seriously”.
The festival will also begin the first episode of “Miss Austen” by PBS Masterpiece, based on the novel by Gill Hornby. Hornby and executive producer Christine Langan will participate in a Q&R after the projection.
The kitchen scene will feature the demos of Roy Choi, the chef behind the Korean-Mexican Taco truck Kogi who also wrote “Le Choi de la Cuisine”; The chief of the James Beard Award James, the chief of the Milk Bar and author of “Bake Club”, Christina Tosi; And the winner and restaurateur of “Top Chef” Brooke Williamson, who recently wrote the “Bisse du Soleil” kitchen.
The LOS scene in association with La Times en Español will offer a variety of Spanish programs (and Spanglish). The scene will host panels on the Latin vote, the role of food in the community and the late launcher of the Dodgers Fernando Valenzuela.

The festivities start on April 25 when the Times will host the 45th annual book prices. This year, the ceremony pays tribute to the Robert Kirsch prize for success for life, Gorman with the Innovator Prize and Emily Witt with the Christopher Isherwood Prize for Autobiographical Prose. Prices recognize 61 nominated in 13 categories.
General admission to the festival is free. The packages of friends of festivals, which include reservations, parking and goods, are currently on sale.
