The actor revealed his very specific reason to reject a Marvin Gaye project when he was invited Bill MaherPodcast “Club Random”.

Terrence says that the film called him to kiss another man … and he fell back.
The star of “Empire” says Lee Daniels was behind Gaye's biopic … but it was Quincy Jones who confirmed to Terrence that Marvin was gay.
Terrence says that he could not have kissed a man on the camera “because I did not simulate him” … and he doubled, saying … “It would make me. I would cut my lips. If I kissed a man, I would cut my lips.”
Despite his reasoning, Terrence says that he is not homophobic.
The problem, at least for Howard, seems to be the way he is preparing for his roles. He says about Marvin: “I can't play this character 100%. I can't go to a place that I don't understand.”
