After a two -year expectation, everyone's favorite zombie fungal show is finally back: the second season of “The Last of Us” will be presented on Sunday.

An adaptation of the successful video game of the same name, the nine episode first season followed the figure of Bruff's father who had become the Smugler who became the eschat Joel (Pedro Pascal) and his teenager accuse Ellie (Bella Ramsey) on a cross-country trip to help find a way to save the world. Ellie's immunity to the fungus potentially holds the key to healing.

How did the apocalypse occur?
In the world of “The Last of Us”, a mysterious epidemic of cordycers in 2003 devastates humanity. Those who are infected turn into zombie guests that exist for the sole purpose of disseminating fungal infection to others. The more infected time, the more monstrous their appearance.
Twenty years later, the company collapsed and the survivors in America must live in quarantine areas of military government controlled by the Fedra (the Federal Agency for Response to Disasters) or former Qz freed from the Oppressive Agency. There are also regulations that independent communities have established by themselves – as well as survivors who choose to stay more isolated.

Who are the key players?
The first season presents the public to Joel Miller, an entrepreneur living with his teenage daughter Sarah. Sarah was killed by a soldier during the chaos of the epidemic while Joel tried to put them in safety. He never really recovers from his loss.
By 2023, Joel lost contact with his brother, Tommy, and is a work of smuggling work in the Quarantine de Boston area with his partner Tess. After going wrong, Joel and Tess meet Ellie, a teenager held by a rebellious militia group called The Fireflies. Chef Marlene asks Joel and Tess to get Ellie out of the city in exchange for supplies.
It turns out that Ellie is protected from Cordycepts and Marlene infection has planned that it will be transported to a group of fireflies in the west in the hope of creating a remedy. (Ellie's immunity probably comes from her Mother becoming infected Just before giving birth to him.)
Did they succeed?
Not quite! The transfer never arrives because the fireflies who were supposed to escort Ellie across the country are infected before their appointment. Tess is also a victim. Joel and Ellie therefore left to find the other fireflies by themselves.
The two approach their perilous journey while Joel and Ellie meet a lot of monstrous monsters and people. But they also meet Tommy, now married and living in the peaceful regulations of JacksonWyo.
Joel and Ellie end up going to Salt Lake City, where the teenager is taken to surgery to start the process of determining a remedy. But when Joel learns that the procedure kills her (doctors need her brain), he continues Mortal outburst To stop the fireflies and escape with Ellie. As they return to Jackson, Ellie asks Joel what happened and he told her that the militia group had already tried without success to develop a remedy with other immune people and had abandoned.

What is the next step? (No spoilers)
This season should resume a few years after the events of Season 1. Ellie and Joel lived as productive members of the Jackson community. Among the new characters to present Dina (Isabela Merced),, Jesse (young tooth) And Abby (Kaitlyn Dever). You can read a spoiler-light review here.
