SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea will increase the Chinese construction of maritime structures off the west coast of the Korean peninsula in a dialogue with Beijing on Wednesday, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Seoul.
China has built structures in a disputed area of the yellow sea, known in Seoul under the name of the West Sea, causing the creation of a “reciprocal” platform, said Seoul.
Beijing has said that its structures are enlargement equipment, but they have raised alarm ringtards to Seoul about the concerns that China could seek to bring its assertions in the provisional maritime area, where the exclusive economic zones of countries overlap.
Foreign Minister Cho Tae-Yul told a parliamentary committee that the question would be raised during a “maritime cooperation dialogue” between countries on Wednesday.
The position of the South Korean government “” is to consider effective alternatives, including proportional countermeasures, “said Cho, without developing.
“Translections now include managers of the working level discussing technical problems,” he said.
