Singapore: Travel agencies in Singapore re -evaluate the tours in cashmere and Pakistan following an increase in hostilities between India and Pakistan.
At least one operator told AIC on Wednesday, May 7, that he had already canceled trips and reimbursed travelers, while others adopt a waiting approach.
The peak in tensions comes after a militant attack killed 26 Hindu pilgrims to cashmere administered by the Indians. In response, India has launched Strike on nine sites in Pakistan and cashmere administered in Pakistan Wednesday, targeting what his soldiers described as “terrorists” used for recruitment and storage of weapons.
The Pakistani army reported 26 deaths of strikes and cross -border fires.
The conflict has disrupted regional trips, with more than 50 flights to and from cancelled Pakistan and several Asian airlines Return or cancel flights.
The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Singaporeans to postpone non-essential trips to Jammu-et-Cachemire.
Canceled visits
SGTREK, a travel company specializing in outdoor adventures, suspended all trips to cashmere, said director Vijay Kumar.
The company had initially planned two tours for the great lakes of cashmere – one in July with 10 registrations and another in August with 17. The two were now canceled, with complete reimbursements issued.
“Some participants had planned this trip since the pandemic, and four were still impatient to continue,” said Kumar. “However, we decided not to take risks.”
He added that the local partner of the company in Cashmere had also recommended to take a trip of travel until the stabilization of the situation.
SGTREK also put visits to Pakistan pending during the last month and issued reimbursements to the customers concerned.
The company, which generally exploits trips to Ladakh between April and September, recently concluded its last tour in Ladakh before tensions deteriorate.
Pinnacle Travel, which offers personalized private visits, has seen a cancellation so far. The customer had inquired about a group tour in cashmere later this month, but has since canceled due to security problems. As the reservation had not been confirmed and no payment, no refund was necessary, said the agency.
