Salesforce has effectively eliminated the hiring objectives of diversity. The company has removed specific hiring objectives, including those to increase the representation of women and minority groups, and the term “diversity” of its last annual report, tabled on Wednesday.
This decision comes in the series of a series of decrees by President Donald Trump calling for the abolition of diversity, equity and inclusion programs (DEI) through the federal government and the private sector. The San Francisco -based company is one of the largest software suppliers in the American government.
A change of tone
Salesforce included a section entitled “Equality, diversity and inclusion” in previous annual reports to describe initiatives aimed at creating a more diverse workforce. Last year's depot has reaffirmed equality as a fundamental value, emphasizing the company's commitment to promote an inclusive environment where employees could prosper.
However, the latest report marks a change in tone. The section was renamed “Equality”, with all references to the deleted Dei initiatives. Instead of detailing diversity efforts, the company now highlights its compliance with equal payment laws and the fight against discrimination through its global operations. The last deposit presents equality in terms of federal compliance, positioning legal membership as a basis for maintaining an inclusive workplace.
CEO Benioff has supported social problems
The CEO of Salesforce, Marc Benioff, has long been expressed on social problems and expressed support for LGBTQ +employees. “If someone will come after our employees and make him discriminate in any way,” he said in last month, “we will do our best to help them.”
Benioff pleaded for a tax increase in San Francisco so that the City can finance initiatives to help the homeless and threatened to withdraw investments from Indiana after the state has adopted a law authorizing anti-gay discrimination for religious reasons, Bloomberg reported.
Salesforce joins Amazon, Meta, GoogleTarget and Walmart, among other companies that have also reversed Dei's initiatives. Last week, Apple announced It can adjust its dei policies in response to the evolution of legal and political measures. Several Trump's Dei's dei orders were challenged in court.
