Russia has launched a large -scale drone assault on Ukraine during the night from Saturday to Sunday, deployment of 165 unmanned air vehicles, according to the Ukraine armed forces.
In the capital, Kyiv, the attacks sparked fires that left eleven people injured, including two children, according to state emergency services (SSE).
The SSE reported that the attack had affected three districts of the capital: Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi and Shevchenkivskyi.
In Obolonskyi, a fire damaged a 12 -storey residential building. Nadiya, one of her residents, described how she reacted when the attack happened:
“When it struck, we didn't know what to do. I was with my son and I said to him:” Come on, let's go! “I caught it like that, in pajamas, and I ran here.
Nadiya added: “We saw people get off the stairs to evacuate. We were all sitting here in the dark. There was a strong fire, they put it, and we were sitting here. Two guys injured each other, an ambulance came, but they did not take them, they were probably subject to a lot of stress. ”
Meanwhile, in Sviatoshynskyi, residential buildings were affected by fire, and Shevchenkivskyi, local infrastructure allowed the attack, with damaged roads and electric posts.
The SSE said that 75 firefighters had been deployed to tackle the flames, which have now been extinguished.
Further south, the central region of Cherkasy has also suffered damage after Russian bombings.
In the city of Cherkasy, the facades and windows of the several floors were destroyed, as well as warehouses belonging to a furniture company, a commercial base and garden structures.
A victim, Vasyl Shevchenko, said the attack: “There was no whistle, no noise, nothing, it just struck us so hard that the windows exploded. God thank you, we are alive. They say that you have to take packages, take documents, take this and that. In such a situation, what can you take? We simply take our underwear.”
Preliminary reports indicate that ten apartments were damaged during night strikes, two of which are completely destroyed by fire.
Emergency services have mobilized more than 100 rescuers and 26 vehicles to respond to affected areas, where houses and businesses were affected by fires.
According to the air armed forces of Ukraine Telegram, the Kharkiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions were also targeted during night strikes.
