Don Taylor: “Speaking with Thomas Drance. Thomas, you have raised a name that I think a lot of people on this market may have forgotten. It's a few answers, and it's Todd Nelson.
Who had a short race as an acting chief coach with the Edmonton Oilers, they missed the playoffs. It was in 2014-2015. He won Calder trophies with, Calder Cups rather, as a Grand Rapids chief coach, a couple in Hershey. You mentioned his name. Would he be considered a solid candidate in your estimate?
NHL rumors: New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks and The Colorado Avalanche
Drance: “Well, I mean, I think he is a strong candidate for one of these vacant posts. You know, after the absolute list of guys from the list I have, you know, finding it difficult to understand why this guy would not get a hit. You know, we have once again, we have seen as the best profile of the head coach on which to bet is Elite American League Coach.
This guy won three of the last four trophies of the Calder Cup for which he participated with his teams. You know, and this has been separated with a fairly successful passage as an assistant Rick Bowness staff in Dallas.
I mean, you know, I just look at this and just say, I mean, if you are looking for a merit base, let's find the best coach we can find, you know, given the profile, given what succeeds in the NHL NHL coaches, or you know about the first time, the NHL head coaches. Todd Nelson has never been lucky with a complete team, I mean, Guy's profile who wins always seems pretty good for me, boys. What do you think?
