(Reuters) -us Secretary of Health and Social Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr intends to change the way the vaccines are tested, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday, citing a HHS spokesperson.
The potential change would require that all new vaccines undergo placebo tests – a procedure in which some people receive the vaccine and others receive an inert substance – before the results are compared, the newspaper said.
“All new vaccines will undergo security tests in placebo tests before the exercise permit – a radical gap in past practices,” HHS spokesperson for Washington Post told.
The ministry did not specify how the change would be implemented and for which the vaccines would apply, the newspaper said.
The HHS did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Reuters outside regular work hours.
