The Peoria City / County health department food inspections For a wide range of establishments in the region. Inspections are looking for problems that could contribute to the spread of food of foodas well as the general cleanliness and maintenance of the establishment.
The Star Journal examined routine inspections For restaurants, mobile establishments and bars of the Comté de Peoria. In March, 186 inspections were completed for these categories.
The establishments listed below have received no violations or enough violations to justify a warning from the Health Department. According to the Peoria City / County Health Department, “inspections only provide instantly in the practices of a food establishment, because they are based on what is observed at the time of the inspection.”
Terminology used by the Department of Health

Basic violation: These violations concern “general sanitation, operational controls, standard operational procedures for sanitation (SSOP), installations or structures, equipment design or general maintenance”, according to the health service.

Violation of the priority foundation: These violations could lead to priority violations if they are not corrected.

Priority violation: These violations are considered to be the highest by the health service, as they have the potential to contribute directly to foods of food.

Warning of comments during routine March inspections
City market At 610, S. Western Ave., Peoria, received four priorities, Five Priority Foundation and four basic violations.
During the routine inspection, the establishment's license was temporarily suspended after an “employee said they had no soap” for hand washing. The license was reintegrated after the supply of soap.
The other violations included:

Raw chicken boxes were found on the ground under the 3 -compartments sink and not maintained at 41 degrees fahrenheit or less. An employee left the boxes there “before taking a break”. The health service noted that time control / temperature for safety foods “must be checked for appropriate reception temperatures, then put in cold detention. Leave these foods is not acceptable.” The violation was corrected on the spot.

The health service has observed several violations of hand washing. These included an employee who does not wash his hands if necessary, an employee “splashing his hands with water for less than 10 seconds” and an employee washing his hands in a sink not intended for hand washing. The three violations were corrected on the spot.

The hand washing sink of the kitchen was blocked by the establishment station of the establishment. The responsible person has moved the breading station away, but shortly after, the health service said that “the panarity station blocked the sink and was to be moved again. The establishment needs a better location for this station where they do not block the hand.” The violation was corrected on the spot.

According to the Health Department, “Shawarma which was placed on grill at 10am was observed detained after 2 p.m. and had not been cooked and hot owned. The 4 -hour period was exceeded. The food was thrown.” The violation was corrected on the spot.

Warning comments monitoring inspections
City market At 610, S. Western Ave., Peoria, received four priorities, Five Priority Foundation and four basic violations during a routine inspection on March 19.
A follow -up inspection on March 31 revealed a priority, a foundation of three priorities and eight basic violations. These understood:

An employee has not been washed if necessary. The violation was corrected on the spot.

While the health service has found frozen fish to dedicate properly, they found raw beef poorly deflected. The violation was corrected on the spot.

The health service noted that the “fled hot oil storage container, the establishment uses a metal pan to catch the oil.”

The health service has found an accumulation of fat and soil behind and under all the equipment.

An “excessive fat and ground accumulation” has been observed on the hood, the cooler sides and other non -food contact surfaces.

According to the Department of Health, a “toxic or toxic material container, which is no longer stored in the original packaging, is not labeled with the common name of the material or content.” The violation was corrected on the spot.
The comments on the inspection noted: “The establishment has shown enough improvement to return to a routine calendar (inspection).”
