New Delhi: Pakistan increases its deployment of troops along the border, said the Indian army on Saturday, May 10, while tensions between nuclear weapons neighbors have skyrocketed, with Pakistan launching a military operation against India.
The Pakistani army has been observed to move its troops in the advanced areas, “indicating an offensive intention to degenerate the situation more,” an Indian military spokesman said a press conference.
“The Indian armed forces remain in a high operational preparation state,” she said. “The Indian armed forces reiterate their commitment to climbing, provided that it is reciprocal by the Pakistani army.”
The Indian army earlier that Pakistan continued its “blatant climbing” with drone strikes and used other ammunition along the western border of India, and its “enemy conceptions” would be thwarted.
Multiple “enemy armed drones” were spotted in the holy city of Amritsar in the Indian border state of Punjab, said the army in a post on X.
“Hostile drones have been instantly committed and destroyed by our air defense units. The flagrant attempt in Pakistan to violate India's sovereignty and endanger civilians is unacceptable.”
The Minister of Pakistan said on local television that “special measures” had been taken to avoid civilian targets and that they were targeting locations that had been used to target Pakistan.
After the announcement of Pakistan's reprisals, residents of cashmere under Indian control said they had heard noisy explosions in several places in the region, including the two major cities of Srinagar and Jammu, and the city of Garrison d'Udhampur.
“The explosions we hear today are different from those we have heard the last two nights during drone attacks,” said Shesh Paul Vaid, former senior police officer in the region and Jammu resident. “It looks like a war here.”
Vaid said explosions had been heard in areas with military bases.
