The emblematic star of Philippine Boxing Manny Pacquia will end his retirement from four years to 46 years to fight Mario Barrios for his Welter WBC weight title, ESPN reported on Thursday.

Pacquiao, who won 12 world titles in eight different weight classes, has not fought since he left a unanimous decision at 12 laps in Cuban Yordenis Ugas for the Welters WBA weight crown on August 21, 2021 in Las Vegas.
ESPN reported that WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said last week during a fight in Saudi Arabia that Pacquiao planned to fight the barrios for the Crown in July and that the Asian star had already been authorized to fight by the Sports Commission of the State of Nevada.
WBC rules allow a former champion to ask for a fight for the title of the world when leaving retirement.
Pacquiao should be inducted at the International Boxing Temple next month and faces an election in the Senate next week in the Philippines.
