Seoul: North Korea drew what seemed to be multiple ballistic missiles short -range Thursday, May 8, said the Army of South Korea, about a week after leader Kim Jong One tested a new weapon system for his last warship.
The Army of Seoul said that she had “detected several presumed projectiles being short-range ballistic missiles,” said joint staff chiefs.
The missiles were “taken from the Wonsan region in North Korea in the Eastern Sea around 8:10 am today,” they added, referring to the body of water also known as the sea of Japan.
The launch, the first northern missile test with nuclear arms since March, occurred about a week after Kim supervised the test of a new war weapon system.
Pyongyang unveiled the 5,000 -ton destroyer class ship named Choe Hyon last month.
North Korea claims that the ship was equipped with the “most powerful weapons” and that it “will come into service at the beginning of next year”.
Some analysts have said that the ship could be equipped with short -range tactical nuclear missiles – although North Korea has not proven that it has the capacity to miniature its nuclear weapons.
The South Korean army said the destroyer could have been developed with Russian aidPerhaps in exchange for the deployment of Pyongyang which deploys thousands of soldiers to help Moscow fight kyiv.
Russia and North Korea also recently announced that they had started to build the first road bridge connecting the two neighbors.
North Korea launched a wave of ballistic missiles last year in violation of the United Nations sanctions.
Experts have long warned that the north with nuclear arms could test weapons for export to Russia for use against Ukraine.
The Department of Japan Defense said there had been no impact on Japan in the North Korean missile, according to the public broadcaster NHK.
