As Aaron Rodgers finally spoke ThursdayHe left all the doors open and all the unwritten deadlines. And if we take it to its word at this stage – and the NFL teams should probably do this exactly – there is no final track to continue its career or retirement.
All we know is that a kind of movement comes from Rodgers … later. This means that a kind of move must come from Steelers … earlier. Like next week NFL draftWhere the team should support itself in the direction that Rodgers goes and select a quarter-tree which can be a long-term response.

“I am open to anything and I am attached to nothing,” said Rodgers on a apparently impromptu appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” Thursday.
“So yes, retirement could always be a possibility.”
He added later: “All this time, I did not have the impression of having a kind of decision at any time.”
When Rodgers returned to the light on Thursday, it was a classic rodgers in the series – promising football revelations, but also the absence of waves, the way the media cover it, throwing his bat signals often used for everyone that he has somehow experienced a victim, then taking some separation pokes from the organization of New York Jets to think.

This last point, pulling the curtain on the jets, was certainly worth it. In a breath, Rodgers allegedly alleged that Glenn shared the concern that the Vétéran quarterrière would only undermine him that in his leadership by being between the coach and the players. In another breath, Rodgers then had Glenn undermined by declaring that after the exchange with the head coach, he was then contacted by the Director General of the Jets, Darren Mougey, as well as the co-owner of the team Christopher Johnson, in what Rodgers seemed to be insinuated was a Mea Culpa de Mea Culpa.

So, yes. Count on Thursday like any other episode of the implementation for a guy who almost always seems to have something to put online. Surely, the Steelers can take note of it, because they are essentially in the same place where the jets were two years ago – chasing optimism and waiting to see how everything worked.
That said, Rodgers proposed a reasonable account – if not completely opaque – for why he does not focus on football career decisions at the moment. He said he had personal things with people close to him and that he took the time he needed to take care of these things. He did not offer much more than that, which should not be a problem. It is his private life and everyone deserves their time and their space to tackle all the problems that arise in this area. More particularly when they are not under contract and make no promise to anyone.
As Rodgers said: “I am in a different phase of my life. I am 41 years old. I am in a serious relationship. I have things out of the field that requires my attention. I have personal commitments that I made – not knowing what my future looks like and which would look like last year – which are important to me. This is where I focused on most of my attention.
Rodgers said he told the teams that it was, so everyone was on the same wavelength. He also told them that he was ready to play next season for a salary of $ 10 million, which at least indicates to the same teams he wants to play in 2025. How the teams work with this information is their choice. But this is also where the door oscillates in both directions. At this point, Rodgers followed a private meeting with the Steelers in Pittsburgh; I had a private launch session with the Wideout Steelers DK Metcalf in Los Angeles; and was far enough on the Steelers radar that the team owner Art Rooney II felt at ease to suggest at meetings of the owners of the NFL last month that Rodgers was “directed in our direction”.

When you start to have the connective tissue here – and there are enough now – each indication is that Rodgers said to the Steelers that he would like to sign with them. But it also seems that Rodgers told them that if it was going to happen, it will take patience because he takes care of his personal life for as long as it must take. It may be a few more weeks. It may be when Minicamp Full Squad meets in June. Or maybe it is during the summer and on the step of the Latrobe training camp door.
At this stadium of the offseason, the Steelers seem to be engaged in pots to wait for Rodgers. However, that does not prevent them from making a very necessary side bet with the 21st overall choice in the draft of the NFL. More than ever, it seems that it is the appropriate movement for the franchise, positioning himself wherever he can take a quarter -back in what he believes – who can then start if Rodgers retires, or sit down and learn from him if he is finally signing.
The only bad movement here is to transmit a writing of a QB and to do nothing – which would put Pittsburgh in a place where Rodgers becomes a all or nothing bet. Except to exchange against Kirk cousins is the emergency plan – and even it is a doubtful hypothesis – the Steelers could be back in their worst scenario in the quarter, starting Mason Rudolph And hoping the best.
This cannot be that the front office and the coaches staff want to manage this team in 2025. Especially after the previous iteration of this led to swings Russell Wilson And Justin Fields,, None of the two finally worked. Thursday, Pittsburgh must have the conviction to move forward with a quarter recruit. And if Rodgers don't like it, he will have to eat his own words from Thursday.

“It's my life,” said Rodgers. “As I said, things are different now. My life is different. My personal life is different. I have things in the inner circle that I am intimately close to that, it is really important for me. And I was in advance with (the Steelers) on this subject, and says:” Listen, if you need to pass, if you need to do something, by all means. “Nothing but love and respect if it is the decision that must be made.

Of all the things that the Steelers could have heard Thursday, the most precious extract could be this one. If they have to move on, they must continue. There is no resentment, but also no deadline. This is what half of this big book looks like. Large open, no commitment to real football. The other side of the big book is entirely under the control of Pittsburgh next week.
It is time for the Steelers to add a quarter to it. Under their terms.
