LeBron James' next decision will have to wait.
James did not have much update on his future on Wednesday evening after LOSS 103-96 of Los Angeles Lakers against Minnesota Timberwolveswho officially eliminated them from the playoffs.
“I don't know. I don't have the answer to that,” said James. “This is something that I will sit with my family, my wife and my support group and somehow talk about it and see what's going on. And I have conversations with myself on how long I want to continue playing. I do not know the answer to this right now, to be honest. We will see.”
There is no challenge that James is at the end of his career. He has just completed his seventh season with the Lakers and his 22nd year in the NBA. He is now 40 years old and will be 41 at the end of the next season. James has a year on his 101 million dollars agreement over two years with the Lakers, although he has a player option and holds almost all the power in terms of the next step for him.

His statistics also did not really slip a lot either. James collected an average of 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game this season, which is not far from his best seasons on paper. But James can't keep it any longer. It is already equal to Vince Carter for most of the seasons played in the history of the NBA, and that will not become more and more difficult to stay healthy and follow.
James has already accomplished everything possible in his career. The quadruple MVP led three different franchises to the NBA titles throughout its career. He is the leader of all time in the NBA, among the many other distinctions he picked up. He was also able to team up with his eldest son, Bonny, this season on the Lakers in another NBA first – which he had long said that he wanted to do before his retirement.
James had 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists In match 5 Wednesday evening. The Lakers went to the playoffs during five of his seven seasons with the team, and they won a championship in 2020, but they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs these consecutive years now.

Lakers have work to do with their list. It was the impression that things were a bit together after landing Luka Dončić in a magnificent mid-season business. James, however, is not yet ready to worry about it.
James is sure to make an announcement on his future, whatever it is, in the near future. It is not too surprising that he did not have an answer ready to go immediately after Wednesday's defeat.
Although we do not yet know what James will do, Bonny confirmed that he was planning to participate in the summer league in Las Vegas in a few months. It's something, at least.
“Very well, have a good off -season,” James said to Bonny After the young James, James finished speaking with journalists on Wednesday. “I will see you when I see you.”
