THE The Superintendent of the city road investigated for sexual harassmentViolence at work and reprisals resigned, according to a statement from the supervisor in the city of Mendon, John Moffitt.
The city has received and accepted the resignation of the Superintendent of the Mendon road, Andrew Caschetta, said Moffitt in a statement of April 24. Moffitt thanked those who presented the allegations against Caschetta.
“It is the chance to turn the page – to create a respectful and more favorable environment for all those who work here,” said the Moffitt press release. “We are already taking measures to support a smooth transition in the motorway department, and we will share little details on the temporary leadership. City services will continue without interruption. ”
The Mendon municipal council authorized an investigation into the official complaints of several employees, who found that Caschetta actions created an environment of fear, increasing the turnover of the staff and considerably disrupted the essential public services. The investigation said the city, in a statement on April 15, revealed that “credible and overwhelming evidence of sexual harassment, violence at work and reprisals”.

The same declaration provided for the immediate resignation of Caschetta, which was approved by the members of the board of directors of Moffitt and Mendon, Brent Rosiek, Kim Roberts and Jim Merzke.
By announcing the resignation of Caschetta, Moffitt said that the city, its inhabitants and its employees were its priority.
“We are responsible for each other and towards our community-to rebuild a culture based on support, dignity, security and mutual respect,” he said. “This work is already underway.”
The municipal council was unable to withdraw from Cophetta, an elected official, but sought to negotiate his immediate resignation. The highway Superintendent was “less interested in achieving constructive resolution and focused on deleting the content of the report and the security of his own financial gain,” said the April 15 press release.
A former member of the city board of directors filed the first complaint for the hostile working environment against Caschetta in August 2023. The municipal council approved an official survey on complaints in October 2024, concluding an agreement with Bolanos Lowe PLLC.
