Majestic concluded an official agreement to acquire the main supplier of premium wines and spirits, Enotria & Coe. The combination would accelerate Majestic's strategic ambition to become the pre-eminent supplier of the United Kingdom of wines, beers and spirits, and to improve value, choice and service for its business partners.
Founded as Enotria wines by Remo Nardone in 1972, Enotria & Coe established one of the most complete and exclusive ranges of high-end wines and spirits of any distributor in the United Kingdom. It works with a diversified range of more than 300 producers, including more than 200 exclusive agency brands. The company provides a multitude of restaurants, hotels and places of reception, including Gaucho, Rick Stein, Hotel du Vin / Malmaison, Bancone and L’Encoupume.
Enotria & Coe has built its activities on four basic principles: quality in everything it does; Take solid relationships with suppliers and customers; offering an exclusive portfolio of wines and spirits; and provide excellence. ENOTRIA & Coe has increased in a coherent way on all supply channels in the past two decades, buying Wheeler Cellars in 2008, Great Western Wink – now negotiating from his bathing shop as Great Wine CO – in 2010, and Coe Vintners in 2015.
Majestic has identified a significant potential to still develop Enotria & Coe alongside its existing, Majestic Commercial B2B, which continue to operate as autonomous business. The combination of active ingredients, highly qualified colleagues and unique wallets will create an extended and highly competitive specialist with a service and a proposal for a differentiated product in the best class. Acquisition would also allow greater investment in technology, people and services in both companies.
Majestic Commercial has established itself as the fastest growing majestic division since the company was acquired by Fortress Investment Group in December 2019. Majestic Commercial has achieved two-digit sales growth in each of the last three years, strengthening its reputation as one of the suppliers of the most reliable interview in the United Kingdom. Last May, this progress was recognized during the prestigious Drinks Business Awards, when Majestic Commercial was crowned trade supplier of the year 2024.
The CEO of Majestic, John Colly, said: “We are happy to have concluded an official agreement to acquire Enotria & Coe. It is a company against which we have contributed and admired for a long time, with a proposal of quality and cultural values which align very closely with what we already make to improve in the envations and the profit from the enotry.
The CEO of Enotria & Coe, Julian Momen, said: “This combination is a fantastic new for Enotria & Coe colleagues, customers, our company and our ambitions for future growth. From the initial approach and subsequent discussions with Majestic, it was obvious to me that there is much to admire in their business and their growth. More importantly the benefit of customers and suppliers. »»
