There is no unique smell that defines Los Angeles. Some perfumes are often linked to the lively streets of the city center or to the green banks of the river, while others are attached to the most isolated and quiet corners of places like Mont Washington or Bel-Air. The essence of the city moves subtly when you move it, each location offering a different sensory experience which reflects the multitudes of Los Angeles.
Our smell is often overlooked, but it is the only thing that can bring back the memories of a place faster than anything else. There is the rich and silt aroma of the Sequoia forests, which resembles nature itself. Or, if you've already gone to Ojai, you will know the sweet and citrus scent of Elin's tangerines that persists in the air.
