Brandon “Bug” Hall he’s not just a little rascal anymore… people online are calling him a big sexist – because he made a joke about his daughters only being good at housework.
The actor – who played Alfalfa Switzer in the 1994 comedy classic “The Little Rascals” – posted about the birth of his son, Marc Athanase Chad Anthony Hall-Barnettearlier this week … stating in the post that he finally had an “heir.”
The problem is… Hall actually has four daughters – and her newborn happens to be her first son.
When fans pointed this out, Bug responded by writing, “I said heiress, not dishwasher”… implying that her daughters are really only good at doing household chores.
Unsurprisingly, this sparked a torrent of backlash… with some telling Hall they found his joke offensive and others outright accusing the former child star of sexism.
But Hall isn’t backing down…saying he made the same joke while his wife, Jillwas in labor — and the two laughed about it. Here he decries overly sensitive people online, saying that most people, like him, still have a good sense of humor.
It’s worth noting that on his social media, Hall describes himself as a “patriarch of 5 ladies” and a “medieval moralist” — whatever that means.
Since the release of “The Little Rascals,” Hall has worked steadily in Hollywood…with roles in “Hercules,” “Honey, We Shrunk!” and guest appearances on several major television series, including “Criminal Minds” and “CSI: NY.”
