To the editor: I never thought that I would agree with Jonah Goldberg, but I now make him moderate his opinions, due to the irrational use of prices by President Trump (“GOP markets: we will not save you from Trump's madness,»April 8). Trump launched a trade war by bombing the world economy with prices. Other countries retaliated with their own reciprocal prices and degenerate war. It is like a world nuclear war, where there are no winners.

To the editor: Thank you, Mr. Goldberg, for explaining why prices are essentially a regressive sales tax imposed by the government (“What will Trump's prices free us from?»March 31). And with the reduction of government staff and potential surpluses made in the federal budget, there is no doubt that the reduction in corporate taxes and the rich will come. What surprises me is that a general manager can unilaterally impose these radical regressive sales taxes on all American citizens.
