To the editor: Although I agree that vandalism is a crime and should be charged as such, the law is exerted disproportionately against pro-Palestinian activists (“Crime accusations for Stanford Pro-Palestinian students? Trump will love it,”April 10). Save for a single protest loaded with Assault with a deadly weapon, we have not seen fondony assault or attended Murder charges levied against the pro-Israel activists who violently attacked pro-palestinian ucla studs, Faculty and Staff in 2024, Nor Have Universities Like Stanford, UCLA OR USC FACED Civil Rights Charges for their efforts to deny pro-Palestinians their right to speak and to challenge pro-Israeli representations of war in Gaza.
Justice must be blind and deaf, as Chabria says (columnist), but it must be prioritized and proportionate. Dist of the County of Santa Clara. Atty. To the editor: A long time ago, when I was a student in the 1960s, the demonstrations were quite common. Many causes I agree with, but something that I had not been to vandalize school goods. That said, I think that depositing crime accusations against pro-Palestinian students is exaggerated mainly designed to intimidate. The suppression of dissatisfaction in this way will not make it disappear; This simply proves the goal for the people that the authorities are trying to silence.
