To the editor: Thus, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences creates a new Oscar for its beginnings in 2028 in honor of the design of waterfalls (“” “After decades of push, the waterfalls will obtain their own Oscar,»April 10)? Try stronger, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The great interpreters of waterfalls and waterfall coordinators who have delighted us in the classics have largely left and apparently forgotten. A large part of the cascade effects in modern cinema is made by computer -generated imaging.
This is an unnecessary price. Will the Academy give the Oscar to a talented graphic designer who storyboarding the “dangerous” stuntman? It is like creating a prize in 2028 for the design of silent film title.
