To the publisher: From all the short -view changes made by the Trump administration, none is more consecutive than its attacks against climate change (“” It's a huge loss “: the Trump administration rejects scientists preparing a climate report”, “ April 29). By trying to refuse the ability of scientists to study climate change and share its effects with others, he opens the door to new environmental, economic and health disasters.
As the article points out, we are already spending billions of dollars to tackle disasters linked to the climate, and the cost has skyrocketed in recent years. Between 1980 and current, an average of 8.8 climate events exceeding $ 1 billion occurred each year, according to the National environmental information centers. The annual average of the last five years is 23 events. Given Trump's obsession to reduce costs, financing studies on climate change makes no sense. By denying that climate change exists and preventing scientists from studying and sharing the information necessary to respond to his impacts, Trump is not only done while the planet burns – he lights it up with a torch.

To the editor: To what extent the Trump administration targets the national climate assessment report, “informing them by e-mail that the scope of the report was being revalued.” President Trump does not seem to believe that climate change is a real danger to the United States and the rest of the world. We can see harmful effects even now, earlier than scientists expected that scientists will only get worse because the country and the world continue to spit greenhouse gases.
Fires here in southern California are an example – and there are many – of the growing number of climatic disasters of a billion dollars. I think of my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and what they will face in the coming decades. Trump and the politicians who support him should stop and think about their descendants too.

To the publisher: The stupidity of the dismissal by the Trump administration of climatologists is amazing. It is clearly a blatant attempt to hide the evidence of the many existential threats to which the world faces, which is full of shift points which will condemn current and future generations to unimaginable dangers. Trump gives our possibility of a better future in the trade for greater profits to a fossil fuels industry that has continuously lied to us in the past 50 years.
It is essential to understand the dangers to come as much as possible, using the best available science. As the consequences of these actions occur, it will be too late to hold the authors responsible for their acts of cruelty.

To the editor: I am sad to say it, but here is another stupid decision of the Trump administration. Why is this administration so afraid of studying the climate and efficiency of our strategies to mitigate the many negative effects that we feel and will continue to feel? There is a lot of magic thought in progress, as if we were studying nothing, it cannot be real.
