BEIRUT (AP) – The Lebanese authorities warned the Hamas group on Friday that it would face the “most severe measures” if it made attacks in Lebanon.
The warning of the Superior Defense Council, the best military body in Lebanon, occurred weeks after several Lebanese and Palestinians were detained Suspected of pulling Lebanon rockets in northern Israel.
“Hamas and other factions will not be allowed to endanger national stability,” said the Council. “The security of the territories of Lebanon is above all.”

Hamas officials did not immediately respond to the Associated Press requests for comments.
