I love how calm my house is at certain times of the day. No one needs anything; The rooms are always and peaceful. I try to capitalize on these moments as much as possible, even if they are not at all at all. I can be overstimulated fairly quickly, especially after a long day of work or an exhausting weekend, and I often find myself cravings calm.
Over time, I learned that the conditions of life are rarely, if never, “perfect” and if you wait for the perfect moments to allow you to relax or rest, you are always waiting. Actually, When you need calm, it's when things are far from still.
Immobility can be frightening for many reasons, but it is necessary for so many others. It is important to be open to the discomfort that can come from the break, the rest or from the return to the interior; To familiarize ourselves and still be enough to listen to our thoughts, feelings and needs.
If you are waiting for the perfect moments to allow you to relax or rest, you are still waiting. It turns out that when you need silence, it is when things are far from still.
I did my best to remember that you can intentionally create spaces in your daily routines to go when you need a break, whether it is a specific room in your home or a nearby place in your neighborhood.
In June, our contributors will write on how to find micro-moles of daily immobility, the advantages of the establishment (and consequences) of the routines, and if we really need to close as much as we think. I will share my answers to some of the most frequently asked questions on our house, a revelation of our yellow bathroom and the five -minute practice that helps me to reset throughout the day. We can't wait to share this, and much more, with you throughout the coming month.
This month, the theme of immobility is to learn to kiss the waste and find how to find immobility ( A kitchen renovation…); It is a question of learning that you can find moments of immobility, even in times of chaos.
