Singapore: The driver of a Maserati Red recorded in Singapore is under probe by Malaysian police for having pretended to cause a fatal accident during the second link to Johor, local media reported on Saturday May 10.
According to the New Straits Times (NST), the 27-year-old Singaporean driver would have turned illegal and crashed into the central separator around 7 p.m. Friday.
The impact sent bursts of the metal barrier on the opposite track and caused an accident of four vehicles to the 0.6 km brand from the second link motorway, NST reported.
A 26 -year -old motorcyclist struck by debris was thrown on the shoulder of the road, added the report. He suffered serious head and leg injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
The images of Dashcam of the accident have become viral online, with a clip showing a motorcyclist hitting which seems to be a part of the central divider, and other motorcyclists also falling after being affected by debris.
Other clips of the consequences of the incident show a crowd of people surrounding the Maserati. Some were seen hitting the car with helmets and screaming a man later.
The deputy commissioner of police chief of the district of Iskandar Puteri, Mr. Kumarasan, told NST that as a result of the accident, several furious users of the road attacked the Maserati driver and struck him with a helmet before the arrival of the police on the scene.
The case is the subject of an investigation under article 41 (1) of the 1987 law on road transport for imprudent driving causing death, and article 324 of the Criminal Code for having voluntarily caused an injury to the aid of a weapon.
