A television show telling their lives remains one of the most popular in Norwegian history, but this week should offer a potentially more Uncomfortable overview of the Ingretitsen family.
Gjert Ingebitssen, once admired as a coach pioneer after having transformed three of his sons into elite runners, should be tried in Norway for allegations that he physically and emotionally abused by two of his children. He denies the accusations.

Freshly winning gold in doubles at the world indoor world championships in China, Jakob Ingretiten should testify on Tuesday March 25 as an alleged victim of what he and his brothers described as “aggressive and controlling” behavior.
On Monday, at the start of the trial, Gjert Ingebrigsen pleaded not guilty to the first of the two accusations, which concerned his daughter, and did not respond to the indictment for the alleged crimes against JAKOB Ingbrigsen.
The young brother cannot be appointed for legal reasons.

“We grew up with a father who was very aggressive and controlling and who used physical violence and threats as part of his education,” alleged the brothers in an interview with the newspaper. “We always feel discomfort and fear that has been in us since childhood.”
The Norwegian state prosecutor then charged Gjert Ingebrigsen for having beat two of his children at a time when he was also their coach. According to the Court's indictment, the 58 -year -old hit and kicked Jakob and threatened to “beat him to death”.

Gjert led to his three sons until 2022, helping Jakob to obtain his first Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020 in the 1500m when he forged a sparkling career as one of the main athletes in the world.

After the split, Jakob added a success of 5000m in Paris 2024 with a large collection of other world medals. The three athlete brothers should testify during the trial.
The same goes for their Norwegian teammate Narve Gilje Nordas – who Gjert continued to guide after the allegations. Nordas won the bronze behind the gold medalist Josh Kerr and Jakob, who took the money, at the Budapest world championships in 2023.
The legal saga broke out after Ingretbtsen team, A Fly-on-the-Wall documentary tracing the life of the family, catapulted them at the Superstom in Scandinavia.
The program took place for five seasons between 2016 and 2021, after the careers of Henrik and Filip, and the breakthrough of Jakob when it quickly emerged as the most talented of the trio.
