To speak to follow on the neutral place
In an article on X, Rubio congratulated Modi and Sharif on the agreement, which, according to him, included not only an immediate cease-fire, but also the start of talks on “a wide range of questions on a neutral site”.
In a later speech to the nation, Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif said that Trump “had played a sincere role” in promoting the ceasefire.
He also declared on X that Pakistan – which had long been looking for international mediation in cashmere – “appreciates” American intervention.
India has always opposed mediation and observers were skeptical about the truce.
“The ceasefire was paved together in a hurry, and at a time when the tensions were at their highest level,” wrote Michael Kugelman, American analyst in South Asia, after the statements of violations.
“India seems to have interpreted the differently agreement of the United States and Pakistan, and it is probably not eager for the wider talks it requires. Maintaining maintenance will take up challenges,” he warned.
The news of the ceasefire was welcomed with relief on both sides of the border and the authority of Pakistan airport said that its airspace had been fully reopened.
India and Pakistan have been locked in a dispute in cashmere since their birth at the end of the British colonial reign in 1947. India from the Hindu major and Muslim Pakistan both reign a part of the cashmere but claim it in total.
They went to war three times, including twice on the cashmere, alongside many small epidemics of fighting.
India criticizes Pakistan for an insurrection in its part of the cashmere which started in 1989 and killed tens of thousands. He also blame the Pakistani Islamist militant groups for attacks elsewhere in India.
Pakistan rejects the two accusations. He indicates that he only provides moral, political and diplomatic support to cashmirian separatists.
