Indian and Pakistani forces have again engaged in fire exchange on their strongly guarded border.

On Friday, the Indian army accused Pakistan of launching “several attacks using drones and other ammunition along the entire Western border”.

The drones were “actually pushed,” the army wrote on X, saying that it gave a “suitable response” to the attacks.

Islamabad did not comment on the latest incidents.

The media in India said that at least one woman had been killed and that four other civilians had been injured by artillery fires on Thursday in the undivided Indian part of the contested region of cashmere.

This would lead to the number of civilian people on the Indian side since Wednesday at 17.

India said Pakistan had made air strikes on the cashmere administered by the Indians and in the state of Punjab on Thursday evening, making no victim.

Pakistan rejected the accusations. The information could not be initially verified independently.

The alarming climbing of tensions between the two nuclear powers was triggered by a terrorist attack on the cashmere administered by the Indians in April which killed 26 people, mainly Indian tourists.

New Delhi accuses Islamabad of participating in the attack. Pakistan denies its participation and called for an independent investigation.

Pakistan and India control each part of the cashmere, but both claim the entire cashmere valley for themselves.
