Port Richey, FL – Ignite Reading, a virtual tutoring program based on the science of reading in 18 states of the country, announced today its partnership with the University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning Through The Tutoring advantage in FloridaA complete state -of -scale initiative aimed at considerably improving the results of students in reading and mathematics. Ignite Reading was selected as a tutoring partner for the advantage of tutoring in Florida thanks to an ITN process led by the University of Florida.

Marking the inaugural implementation of Ignite Reading in Florida at the Dayspring Charter Academy in the county of Pasco through the Florida Tutoring Advantage Partnership, the school organized a showcase last week celebrating the important literacy gains made thanks to their collaboration. The UF Lastinger Center administers the design resources of the tutoring program, finances school districts to strengthen their tutorial programs, offers professional learning for district staff and tutors and provides face -to -face, virtual and automated tutoring for eligible students from kindergarten to 5th year as well as IA supports for selected students from 6th year to 12th year. The objective is to improve the results of K-5 students in reading and mathematics. During the inaugural year of implementation, the Lastinger Center adopted a plan, preparation and pilot model to light up the program update.

  • Development and sharing of tutoring guidelines with high impact for school districts.
  • Provide a consultation of experts to school districts on the creation of programs and effective implementation.
  • Provide funding for grants to public school districts to develop tutorial programs in person.
  • Implement and expand tutoring programs in person, virtual and automated in K-5.
  • Improved support in AI for students from 6th to 12th year.
